Dear Oliver. Oh how i love you. Over the past month you have really started turning from a baby into a little boy. I know this probably sounds silly since you still look like a baby, but I can really see your personality coming out and you are such a happy little kid. Every morning (and sometimes middle of the night) you greet me with ear to ear smiles which melt my heart every time. Sometimes you smile so hard you wave your fists in the air and squeal with delight. Any day now I am expecting a full out belly laugh! You love making cooing and gurgling sounds as though you are having a full out conversation with me. You can mimic sounds that I make too, which really surprised me the first time I discovered this! I have also just started reading you kids books, which so far you are loving! You seem to like the bright colours and are starting to reach out to touch the pages too. Sometimes I read you my books out loud too which you don’t seem to mind, even though they don’t have any pictures :)  Your  legs are now chunky enough to wear your bumgenius diapers without leaking (most of the time) which you of course look adorable in. Daddy and I regularly tell you that you are the coolest thing to ever happen to us.. but we may take that back when you hit your terrible twos :) For now though, we will just keep on enjoying the smiley goobery lovable mess that you are :) Love mommy.

Meghan Dubuc: Naomi he is beautiful. Congratulations!

Aimee Lashley: He is SO sweet!!!! Great pictures!!!

Michelle: I look forward to reading your updates to Oliver, Naomi. You are an incredible Mom and I can just imagine how happy you make Oliver and Josh by sharing your love of them and your love of life.

Naomi Claire: aww michelle you are toooo sweet!! thank you!! you are an incredible mom yourself.. i never know how you have as much energy as you do with 2 busy boys!! :)

Eileen Broderick: Wow--3 months?! He is perfect. That smile--it just makes my day. Sounds like you are madly in love...There is just nothing else like it. Enjoy!

Dear Oliver. You are now a month old and I have no idea where has the time gone!! It feels like just yesterday that we came home from the hospital. The days go by so fast, even though they are pretty much consumed by breast feeding, changing diapers, and doing laundry. You have already grown and changed so much in only a month. You are now awake a lot during the day, and you are very content to just look around and soak up everything around you. You have started making little laughing sounds while you sleep and I’m not sure what causes them (maybe a funny dream?) but I love them and it just makes me even more excited to hear your first real giggle. These little sounds make being shot with explosive  poop completely worth it. (Yes you shoot me with poop regularly. It’s actually quite impressive how far it goes.) I am so proud of how big you are getting but at the same time I can see your ‘newborn’ look disappearing every day and I can’t help but feel a little sad that you are growing up. Before I know it you will be sitting up and getting teeth and going off to collage. AH! So I am soaking up every special moment with you before you leave home :) Love mommy.

This is one of your many funny expressions :)

Aimee Lashley: OMG!!! I can't believe that he is already a month old. He is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Great pictures, Naomi!!!

ana: OH MY GOSH I WANT TO EAT HIM ! He is GORGEOUS and SOOOO lucky to have a mama like you snapping his every precious gorgeous moment!

Bernadette Biro: He is so gorgeous, what a blessing.

Dear Oliver. I can’t believe that you are already a week old! I have only known you for a few days and I love you more than I ever could have imagined. I am learning new things about you every day. One of the first things you taught me was that you hate having your hands covered because you love to touch your face. You have so many facial expressions and I could stare at you all day long. You make the cutest little squeaky noises and barely ever cry. You also smell like heaven. You have very long fingers and toes just like your daddy. You are also a very cuddly baby which works out well because I could snuggle you all day long. Since you are almost a month early you sleep almost all day except to eat and get your diaper changed. You love to hold things in your hand and you have such a tight grip already. When you nurse, you hold my finger in your hand and make beautiful noises like a little bird. A few days ago you smiled at me and my heart melted into a million pieces. I don’t care that it was just gas :) Love, mommy.

Well for those of who do not know, I am 30 weeks pregnant! :) I am due in December with a baby boy and I couldn’t be more excited! It was too hard to find someone to do my pregnancy photos so I decided to do them myself with my naturally talented husband as the photographer (with a little bit of direction from me:) This was his first (and probably last..haha) pregnancy photo shoot but he did such a wonderful job and I’m so pleased with how they came out!!

Here is a short highlight reel from the final performance of “Down By The Creek Bank”, done by the Pioneer Kids Club. For parents who want to order DVD’s of the full length performance, they will be available by the end of next week.

On Wednesday night I had my first filming experience! I volunteered to film the pioneer kids club play, and the main performance is this Sunday night. I thought since I’ve never filmed anything before I better go to the dress rehearsal to practice :)
I don’t think I did too badly considering it was my first time!!
(I think I better bring a tripod next time though… haha)

Sorry the quality is so low, I will upload a higher version for the final show.
Here are just a few highlights from the play…

Enjoy!

{ in the beginning… }

April 10, 2008

Wow… I think spring has FINALLY sprung!! It has been sooooooo nice the past couple of days to have the sunshine come out to play. I decided that for the last week of Pioneer Clubs before the summer break, we would focus on creation and new life, since everything is just about to start growing. I decided we would make grass heads to celebrate the new growth of spring! It was so much fun, and it was really cool to see them get so creative!! Here are all the little grass heads they made :)
