Archive for January, 2008

Well it has been a very cold and blustery few days… and even though I wish I could hibernate until spring, that just doesn’t seem very likely to happen.

Ever since I got a pair of the coolest boots ever from my brother for Christmas, it has been so much less painful going out in the freezing cold! I can’t tell you how many people have been commenting on my boots lately, so I thought I would share the wealth with you all! They are from one of my favorite places on earth, Mountain Equipment.

They are soooo warm and cozy, you can wear them inside, outside.. anywhere! You’ll never get snow in your socks again!! They are by far my most favorite piece of winter clothing. I couldn’t imagine life without them!!

Here are my feet, nice and warm and dry :)

Jaci Clark: AWW, I love these ones! Your babies are TOO cute (especially covered in snow!) Cheers, Jaci

Meghan and Steve are the coolest!! I’m so stoked to shoot their wedding this May. They were so willing to do anything and everything.. so thank you guys for being such great sports!!

We couldn’t of had a more beautiful day…I think that today was the prettiest day so far this winter! As I was watching them skate around on the lake, and the snowflakes were slowly drifting down all around them, I felt like they could’ve been on a postcard!

We were all a little wet by the end of the shoot, but I had a total blast, and they ended up with great photos!!

Here are a few of my favorites. I couldn’t narrow them down to just a few!

Stay tuned for the slideshow in a few days!

Tracie from Body Now 4 Mums!

Tracie is one of those people who is always smiling, always energetic, and always so full of life! She runs her business solely for mothers of all ages. Everyone loves working out with her so much that they need a bigger building! They are moving into this gorgeous limestone building in Portsmouth Village. I stopped by her new building last night to take some photos. They will be starting renovations soon and it should be ready to go in April/May!

You know those really ugly books with the lace on them that you can buy for all your guests at the reception to write their signature in and then you stick it in a box in the basement for the rest of it’s life?

Well I have some great news, because you will NEVER (say it with me now: NEVER!) have to buy one of these silly things for your wedding! Because included in all my wedding collections is a casual engagement shoot, *AND* your own custom designed photo signing book for your reception! So instead of all your guests just signing their names, they can leave you fun little notes, memories, and advice. The best part is that it’s full of photos of you and your groom to be!

Here’s one I just designed for Samantha & Noal, who are going to be married on Sept 27th! So excited for your wedding you guys!!

… is the sound my cheeks are making right now!!! My last two wisdom teeth were taken out yesterday, and man my head is POUNDING. I’m just about to go to bed because I couldn’t sleep last night at all with all this pounding going on.

Please don’t laugh at me if you see me in public… just because my head looks like a soccer ball doesn’t mean you can laugh. Okay who am I kidding, I look pathetic… laugh all you want!

… Haha, and I thought I had a high pain tolerance… yea right!

Yes it’s true, I am a total wimp..

Moral of the story: Be thankful if all your teeth are in your head safe and sound.. this is not fun!! I would post a photo of myself but I think I would regret that for the rest of my life. haha.

I’ll try to post something more interesting tomorrow :)

Have a good night!

jessica del vecchio: Feel better soon, Naomi!

Penny: I'm so sorry! There is nothing worse than a throbing ache. We hope our little chipmunk is feeling better soon!

I know it’s hard to imagine a world without fresh drinking water, because we have it right at our fingertips, whenever we want it.

But here’s something to think about… North Americans use as least twice as much water per person as anyone else in the world. By 2025 (only 17 yrs away!) the world will have to increase it’s water supply by 22% in order to meet its current needs. Meanwhile, 40% of the drinking water we use is flushed down the toilet!!

Here’s something easy you can do: Take A Shorter Shower! (Even by 2 minutes!)
If everyone shortened their showers by 2 minutes every day, over one year it would equal almost 3 times of the amount of freshwater drawn from the Great Lakes every day. (The Great Lakes are the world’s largest source of freshwater). The amount of water you use in 2 minutes is more than the average African person would use in an entire day. Something to think about.

Another easy thing you can do is make sure you turn off the tap while your brushing your teeth. So many people leave the tap running while they brush their teeth.. which results in so much fresh drinking water completely wasted!!

See how simple it is? I challenge you to at least try to take shorter showers this week.. once you get used to it, you won’t even notice the difference, and you’ll feel great because you are making a difference.
