WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO RESERVE MY NEWBORN SESSION?

It's never too early to book!
I take a limited number of sessions each month so I can leave space for babies that arrive earlier or later than their anticipated due date. 
Most people reserve their date during their 2nd or 3rd trimester.
That being said - I can usually squeeze in a last minute session so don’t hesitate to reach out!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO DO A NEWBORN SESSION?

Ideally, newborn sessions will happen when your baby is between 7-20 days old.
This allows for your baby to be sleepy and posable for the duration of the session.
If your little one is older than 3 weeks, don't fret.
I may not get them into all the typical newborn poses, but I will still capture beautiful photos of your precious bundle! 
If your baby is a few months old, you may want to consider an at home lifestyle session.
After 1 month old, babies will not curl into the typical newborn poses as easily, but we can still capture some beautiful photos!

HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION WHEN I DON'T KNOW WHEN MY BABY WILL ARRIVE?

When you book, I will put your due date on my calendar so that I can plan around it.
I book a limited amount of sessions so that I can keep a few days available in the few weeks before and after your due date.
If your baby arrives earlier or later than the anticipated due date, there is always room to accommodate!
Once your baby is born, I ask that you let me know as soon as possible so that we can confirm the date and time of your session. 

HOW LONG WILL MY NEWBORN SESSION BE?

Newborn sessions in the studio can run anywhere between 2-4 hours, depending on how many feeding/soothing breaks your baby needs.
Lifestyle sessions in your home tend to run a little shorter, around 1-2 hours.
Some sessions are quicker than others but it is all dependant on your baby. 
I am very baby-led and I do not rush sessions.
Your baby's comfort and safety is my #1 priority!

WHERE DOES THE NEWBORN SESSION TAKE PLACE?

This depends on whether you book a studio session or a lifestyle session in your home.
If you choose the studio, I want all of my clients to make themselves feel at home.
There is a couch for you to relax on while I photograph your sweet bundle.
Please feel free to bring snacks, a book or a magazine, or just surf on your phone (or take a nap on the couch!)
If you would prefer to book a lifestyle newborn photo session in your home, here is some information for you!

DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO MY NEWBORN SESSION?

All you need to do is show up with your baby!
I have lots of bonnets, headbands, outfits and props.
I individually style each session and always ask for your preferences on what colours you’d like used.
My style is very neutral, simple and minimal, to keep your images as classic as possible.
If you have something special that you'd like to include in the session, please let me know ahead of time so that I can prepare for it.
Whether it be a handmade blanket or a treasured heirloom item, I will do my best to try and incorporate it into your session.

WHEN/HOW DO WE PAY?

The retainer fee is due upon booking to hold your due date on my calendar.
I take a limited number of sessions a month so that I can accommodate babies that may come early or later than their anticipated due date. 
Payment for any prints, products or digitals purchased are paid for at the time of the ordering session which takes place about 2 weeks after your session.

WILL I RECEIVE THE DIGITAL PHOTOS FROM MY SESSION?

Yes! Any print or product that you purchase also includes the corresponding digital version of the image.
Everyone always likes having the digital image, but it is so important to put your prints up on your wall!
Digitals tend to stay ‘digital’.
Your portraits shouldn't waste away on your computer, where they could easily disappear.
Your images are meant to be viewed out in the open and enjoyed.
Together, we will create art for your home that will become family heirlooms.
